Team Mexico a big draw in Arizona with fans, sponsors

Staff Phoenix Business Journal

The Mexican national soccer team was in Glendale last night to play an exhibition game against Team Denmark, and that means big business for the West Valley.

Mexico and Denmark played to 1-1 draw in front of just over 43,300 fans at University of Phoenix Stadium. The Glendale dome seats 63,400.

Across the street at Jobing.com Arena, the Phoenix Coyotes hockey team drew just under 13,000 fans in an overtime loss to the Edmonton Oilers.

Mexico will play its next U.S. tour exhibition game in San Francisco in April against Peru.
