Members defend church that blocked black couple?s wedding

They had set the date and printed and mailed out all the invitations, but the day before wedding bells were to ring for Charles and Te'Andrea Wilson, they say they got some bad news from the pastor.

NBC 3

They had set the date and printed and mailed out all the invitations, but the day before wedding bells were to ring for Charles and Te'Andrea Wilson, they say they got some bad news from the pastor.

Members of the First Baptist Church of Crystal Springs in Mississippi want the world to know that it isn?t a racist church.

?We?re not,? Barbara Mack told WLBT-TV on her way into Sunday services. ?We welcome anybody that wants to come through those doors.?

Charles and Te'Andrea Wilson didn?t feel welcome when the church?s pastor told them the day before the wedding that the mostly white congregation had decided no black couple could wed there.

Dr. Stan Weatherford, the pastor, said a small but vocal minority at the church objected, and threatened to vote him out if he went through with the Wilsons? wedding.

The couple was forced to scrap their plans and get married at another church on just one day?s notice.

First Baptist member Ralph Miley told WLBT he hopes the church will eventually address the controversial decision.

?Personally, I would like to apologize to the Wilsons, to their family and friends, and to the entire black community because this has happened," he said.

?

The First Baptist Church of Crystal Springs, Miss., forbade the wedding of a black couple in their house of worship.

Barbara Mack?s husband, Bob, blamed the members who ?intimidated the pastor and created a situation that had him in a bind,? and said they ?have some misconceptions? about their religion.

"We hope we can straighten them out, you know, get them to understand what Christianity is all about,? he said.

But Charles Wilson told CNN that the time to "step up and be Christ-like" would have been before he and his wife were forced to move their wedding.

"If it was such a minority of people, why didn't the majority stand up and say, 'in God's house we don't do this?'" he asked.

Secure Wealth By Investing In Oil And Gas Businesses | Arty Apt

In order for an individual to truly become wealthy, they should in invest their money in good investments. Individuals can get superb investment returns if they invest in oil and gas. Some individuals choose not to investment money the way they are supposed to, and they end up spending for it once they get older and are not able to physically work to make an earnings. Investing is incredibly important, even if a person doesn?t believe they have spare money to invest with. If an individual doesn?t have adequate money to invest with, they must cut back on other charges, specifically if a person qualifies to be an authorized investor. If an individual qualifies to be an accredited investor, it indicates they either make $200,000 a year, or they?ve a value of at least $1,000,000.

Why Gas and oil Is a Good Investment

When a person makes an investment in oil and gas, they?re making a great investment because they?re investing in something that?s very stable. The oil and gas sector is not just like technology industry that changes each year. In the technology industry, goods and technology services advance and decline rapidly. The gas and oil industry has been nearly the very same for centuries. New technology sometimes arises to assist the industry make progress, but change is generally infrequent in this industry. If an individual chooses to invest in oil and gas, they generally do not need to fear change wiping out their investment.

Caused by the stability of the oil and gas industry, once an individual makes an investment into a good business , the profits they receive from the company are reputable. Investors who invest in all of these types of businesses could receive a never-ending way to obtain divided checks. Firms in this industry are always rewarding. Doing good times, and bad times, oil and gas companies make a profit. These firms are recession proof.

Once a person is seeking something to invest in, they should only search for things to invest in which are stable and pay investors regular profits. If investors just concentrate on these kinds of investments, they?ll get satisfactory returns, without having to be worried about their investments. If a person qualifies to be an authorized investor, they can put money into gas and oil companies unavailable to the general population to invest in. Such investments lead to bigger profits than normal for sensible investors.

2 SKoreans arrested for mobile customer data theft

(AP) ? South Korean police said they arrested two men who allegedly stole the personal details of about 8 million mobile phone subscribers and sold the data to marketing companies in one of the country's biggest hacking schemes.

Police said in a statement Sunday that the two men developed the hacking program that was used to steal the names, residential registration numbers and phone numbers of customers of KT, which is South Korea's largest fixed-line telephone company and No. 2 mobile operator. The program was uploaded to the company's computer systems and harvested personal data for months.

Police said the two made about $877,000 from the hacking scheme. They sold the program as well as mobile subscriber data to telemarketing companies which used the details to contact customers to solicit them to switch to other mobile operators.

Authorities said a former KT employee and six others were also charged for their roles in the scheme.

The data theft at KT took place over the span of five months from February and affected about half of KT's 16 million mobile customers.

KT apologized and said it will beef up its security system.

The incident is the latest in a series of large-scale hacking attacks that have affected millions in one of the world's most wired countries. Last year, hackers stole personal data of 13 million gamers at Nexon and private details of 35 million members at web portal Nate and Cyworld were leaked.

Jackson judge orders probe into children's welfare

LOS ANGELES (AP) ? A judge on Friday ordered an investigation into the well-being of Michael Jackson's children and a lawyer for the family matriarch said she will move to share guardianship of the children with the adult son of Tito Jackson.

Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff told a court investigator to interview the three children independently and provide a report for review only by the judge, not attorneys involved in the case.

The order does not spell out a reason for the investigation, but it is likely intended to give the judge another perspective on how Jackson's children are coping after a week of family turmoil that included the absence of their grandmother and a dispute in the driveway of their home amid a feud over the estate of the pop superstar.

The court investigator was ordered to interview the children at school at a time to remain undisclosed. Beckloff received a similar report a few weeks after Jackson's death in 2009 and its contents remain sealed.

Beckloff said during a hearing earlier this week that there were no indications that Katherine Jackson had done anything wrong.

Under the proposed guardianship change, the 82-year-old Jackson would share oversight of the children with Tito Jackson's son in a deal that would relieve her of some of the day-to-day stresses of managing a famous family, her attorney Perry Sanders Jr. said.

The decision was made after a meeting between Katherine Jackson and Sanders on Thursday. He said Michael Jackson's eldest son has told attorneys he approves of the arrangement.

A formal filing for co-guardianship is expected next week. If approved, it would make Tito Joe "TJ" Jackson a co-guardian of the children ? Prince, Paris and Blanket ? who range in ages from 10 to 15.

TJ Jackson's attorneys suggest the co-guardianship arrangement in a filing Friday. It states that if either adult guardian dies or is unable to serve, the other will act alone in raising the children.

Under the plan, responsibility for managing staff and security at the home would shift to TJ Jackson. Katherine Jackson would keep control of a family allowance worth tens of thousands of dollars a month, Sanders said.

"Mrs. Jackson is extremely pleased with the prospect of enjoying the pleasure of raising Michael's children without the day-to-day tedium of items such as managing the large staff that goes with such a high-profile family and focus her attention on being a grandmother and raising Michael's children," Sanders wrote in a statement.

"She is eager to simply enjoy her great relationship with these children, while deeding over some of the stressors that go hand in hand with being a guardian," he wrote.

TJ Jackson, 34, is the children's first cousin and performs with his brothers in the group 3T.

Beckloff on Wednesday suspended Katherine Jackson's guardianship duties temporarily and appointed TJ Jackson as temporary guardian. The judge said he would likely re-instate Katherine Jackson as guardian upon her return.

Katherine Jackson had been at a Tucson, Ariz., spa since July 15 with her daughter Rebbie and other relatives and had not spoken to her grandchildren during that time. She returned to the Los Angeles area on Thursday.

"The minor children are very attached to (TJ Jackson) who has been very involved in their lives since the death of their father," TJ Jackson's attorneys wrote in the court filing. "Recent events have highlighted the need for continuity for the minor children."

The filing was required by Beckloff, but Sanders said it would be superseded by a joint petition next week.

Apple Patent Points to iOS Devices Interfacing with Game Consoles ...

posted July 27th, 2012 2:39 PM EDT by Jared Nelson in News

Apple is known as one of the most innovative companies in history, and they?re also very careful about protecting all of their bright ideas. This results in them constantly applying for patents for these inventions. More often than not, these patents never result in an actual product, but it?s fun to see the kinds of things that are brewing behind the scenes at the famously guarded Cupertino company.

One of those interesting ideas surfaced this week, when Apple was granted a patent covering iOS devices interacting with other machines via NFC, or Near Field Communication. NFC is basically a chip installed on a device that can wirelessly connect to a similarly equipped NFC device simply by putting the two devices close together. Sort of like Bluetooth, but simpler.

It?s been long rumored that NFC would make its way into the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, and this latest patent covers some of the things Apple might expect to do with such technology. While this includes more mundane things like controlling your thermostat or turning on the sprinklers in the yard from your smartphone, they also have a couple of gaming-related applications in mind.

One shows an iOS device pairing with a game console controller itself, thus giving the ability to control the game from the controller to the Apple device. Several options for virtual onscreen controls are given for doing so. The second application shows an iOS device connecting directly to the game console itself, allowing you to control the system using iOS after pairing with the console via WiFi, infrared, or NFC.

Some pretty neat stuff, but like I said it may never come to fruition. However, with Apple?s subtle entry into the living room with Apple TV and game console makers taking more of an interest in involving smartphones into their overall game plan, it?s smart of Apple to cover their bases and it?ll be interesting to see if anything ever comes from this.

EYES ON LONDON: Dehydration, heavy medals

LONDON (AP) ? Around the 2012 Olympics and its host city with journalists from The Associated Press bringing the flavor and details of the games to you:

    ___

    DEHYDRATED

It's been a long wait for doping officials in Scotland ? because it's Ramadan.

Morocco coach Pim Verbeek says two of his players found it "more or less impossible" to provide a urine sample after the team's 2-2 draw with Honduras in Glasgow on Thursday. The game was at noon ? and the players hadn't had anything to eat or drink since 2:30 a.m.

The coach says the players asked if a bed could be arranged so they could sleep at the stadium, possibly until sunset when their daily fast ends.

Nine of the team's players are observing the Muslim fasting month. Because the days are long in Scotland, that means they are eating from 9:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.

    HEAVY MEDAL

They're big, and they're a heavy handful. Not that most of us will ever get to hold one.

This year's Olympic medals are the largest and heaviest of any summer games in Olympic history. Weighing in at 400 grams (about 14 ounces), the 2012 gold medal is twice as heavy as its counterpart at the 2008 Beijing games. Measuring 85 millimeters (about 3.3 inches) across, this year's medals are the largest-ever in diameter as well.

British artist David Watkins designed the medals, which include, like all previous summer games medals, the iconic Greek goddess of victory, Nike (probably not the first image you associate with the word).

The British company Rio Tinto mined the gold, silver and copper used in the medals from its mines in Mongolia and Salt Lake City, Utah. The gold medals in this year's Olympics are actually mostly silver, with gold making up only 1.34 percent of the medal. The Royal Mint produced the finished products in Wales.

While they await their victors, the medals are being securely stored in the Tower of London, known for hundreds of years as a pretty serviceable place to lock things up.

He can hear the spikes and serves, but however much he tries to take a peek, British Prime Minister David Cameron won't catch a glimpse of the beach volleyball contests due to be staged right next to his home at London's famous No. 10 Downing Street.

Ex-leader Tony Blair once joked it was a "masterstroke" to hold the competition at Horse Guards Parade, a storied square in the heart of central London, which sits right next to the British leader's residence.

But Cameron says Thursday that a temporary 15,000-seat arena built for the matches has completely obscured his view.

Is London prepared to pull off the Olympic Games smoothly? Is that what Mitt Romney's asking?

The Republican presidential candidate is causing a stir in Britain by raising the question. The former Massachusetts governor is visiting British political leaders Thursday while trying to show he has what it takes to represent America on the world stage.

But instead of highlighting ties with America's staunchest ally, Romney may have embarrassed the Brits instead. Romney said in an interview that it's unclear whether Britain can overcome the issues that have dogged its final preparations for the Games.

Leaving a meeting with British Prime Minister David Cameron, Romney said he expects the games will be successful.

Cameron says Romney and others will "see beyond doubt that Britain can deliver."

Asian judo federations allow them, but in London the veil has been deemed dangerous. Judo includes strangleholds and chokeholds ? and judo officials think that could prove even more painful if there's something to tug.

They also think judo should be free of religion and politics.

Wojdan Ali Seraj Abdulrahim Shahrkhani is one of two female Saudi athletes here. The kingdom is allowing them to compete after the International Olympic Committee and human rights groups exerted intense pressure for an end to its practice of sending all-male teams to the games.

    TICKETS, ANYONE?

The line to pick up event tickets at the City of Westminster College will-call is snaking through the campus Thursday with fans anxious to get their hands on the prized item. Among them: Michael Perkowski, a contractor for the U.S. military who drove directly to get his tickets after his plane touched down from Afghanistan.

Perkowski says his ticket-buying odyssey began 18 months ago when he was working for the Army in Iraq. He went through the early bidding process and finally scored tickets to three of his 24 choices within the last few months.

Now in Afghanistan working with the U.S. Marine Corps, he says he was coming to the Games regardless of what tickets he landed.

"I don't take too many vacations, so I was doing this no matter what," he says. "We took that long flight, drove forever to come straight here but I don't care. It's all worth it."

    BRANDED LONDON

    London looks different.

You can't walk for more than five minutes through central London without seeing some sign of the Olympics. The words "Camden" or "Kensington and Chelsea" on Olympic banners hang from lampposts at regular intervals in those London boroughs. Take a turn down a side street and you can find a park railing with a new poster depicting cycling imagery running the length of it.

The main action might be in the Olympic Park, but the Olympics is evident everywhere.

AP's Tom Withers reports in from the basketball venue:

Act as if you own the place. That mantra has always served me well, and with those words in mind, I strolled inside the Olympic basketball venue, which wasn't fully open on Wednesday.

As technicians busily dragged cables around the outside of the temporary 12,000-seat structure, where the preliminary rounds are being played, I coolly walked in and watched a few minutes of the Angola women's team practice.

The unique building, erected in just three months, is covered in a white stretch material that will be used for light projections during the games. Its architectural style is similar to the Water Cube swimming complex in Beijing.

Feeling a bit guilty after my self-guided mini tour, I confessed to one of the media leaders that I had already been inside. He didn't seem to mind. "Cheers," he said.

The 63-year-old, a top coach for the U.S. equestrian team, separated from his second wife, Sandy, and began divorce proceedings earlier this year after falling for fellow equestrian Lauren Hough, 35.

Phillips, whose daughter Zara is competing in Team GB's equestrian events, has faced criticism and calls for his resignation over his affair with Hough, who is also a member of the American team's coaching staff.

After the Olympics, he will leave his job. But he says it's not because of criticism in the United States.

He told Country Life magazine: "I don't read chatrooms and all that rubbish as it's mostly uninformed and unidentified opinion, which won't change my life.

He's clear about one thing: "I'm not out to win a popularity contest."

    GRIDLOCK ? LESSON LEARNED

AP's Fergus Bell, a Londoner, reports in from the crowded streets of his city:

I took a taxi journey into central London. I usually take the train or Tube because I think they are faster when there are no known problems on the line. Today, with a couple of bags in tow, I had no choice.

It should have taken me 32 minutes, according to a quick online route search.

    It didn't.

OK, I knew that figure was a bit optimistic. But I wasn't expecting the driver ? who knows the roads very well ? to get confused by all the new Olympic lanes, end up going a very different route from the one he was expecting. I ended up in the back seat acting as navigator with maps pulled up on my tablet checking which roads were clear.

The result: after 1 1/2 hours in the car and still the wrong side of central London I abandoned the driver to his fate. Bags and all, I jumped out at an underground station and took a delightfully smooth 12-minute journey to my destination and learned a lesson: Stick to what you know and trust your instincts.

    "The egg and spoon race."

But, Geldof conceded, the games have at least brought much-needed regeneration to a post-industrial swath of east London ? transformed from gritty to green by the 500-acre (200-hectare) Olympic Park.

    A SPANISH OLYMPICS?

As the debt-ridden Spanish government hovers on the brink of needing a sovereign bailout, the country is continuing to pursue a bid for the 2020 Olympics. Spanish sports secretary Miguel Cardenal maintains that Madrid winning the Olympics after two failed bids would help the country's economic recovery.

"The Spanish state is calling for its citizens to tighten its belts to accept the need for a degree of sacrifice and the measures are certainly painful," Cardenal said in London. "But we would nevertheless pursue this project," he said, saying that "this is something that will boost our aspirations to have a sustainable economy."

Bidding again, Cardenal insists Madrid will only spend where "absolutely necessary," but pointed out that much of the infrastructure is already in place.

"All of us will have to be very careful indeed in the way we use public funds," Madrid mayor Ana Botella added.

Missing out on the London Games, which start on Friday, appears to have been good fortune for a Spanish government struggling to keep a handle on its debts. Now there's time for a recovery in the Spanish economy long before 2020.

Madrid is competing against Istanbul and Tokyo. The host of the 2020 Olympics and Paralympic Games will be announced on Sept. 7, 2013 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Get Into Forex And Use Strategies That Are ... - Finance Revealed

A secondary income can allow you to loosen the purse strings. With the current state of the economy, millions are seeking financial relief. If you need to supplement your income and have been entertaining investing in the forex platform, here is some information you should read.

TIP! Pick a trading strategy that complements your lifestyle. If you?re in a rush and can only trade occasionally, use a delay-order strategy that aims to achieve good weekly or monthly results.

After you?ve decided which currency pair you want to start with, learn all you can about that pair. By trying to research all the different types of pairings you will be stuck learning instead of trading. Choose one currency pair and find out as much as you can about that one. Know the pair?s volatility vs. its forecasting. Focus on one area, learn everything you can, and then start slowly.

When your trades are unsuccessful, don?t look for a way to retaliate, and when your trades are successful, avoid letting your greed get the upper hand. An even and calculated temperament is a must in Foreign Exchange trading; irrational thinking can lead to very costly decisions.

TIP! Always keep a notebook handy. You can then note down interesting ideas or news from the forex markets at any time.

Forex depends on the economy even more than stock markets do. If you are interested in trading on the forex market, you should first educate yourself on all aspects of world currency and fiscal policy. If you jump into trading without fully understanding how these concepts work, you will be far more likely to lose money.

Avoid moving a stop point. Figure out what stop point you are going with, before you start, and don?t change it. You should consider a stop point immovable as you may start to react emotionally and irrationally and consider changing it. Doing so will only significantly increase your risk of losing money.

TIP! Those trading on the currency markets should trade according to market trends unless they have a specific long-term goal that requires them to trade against the market. Trading against the market is extremely high-risk and has a high rate of failure.

Rely on your own knowledge and not that of Forex robots. This may help the sellers, but it will not help the buyers. Keep your mind on the trade and make prudent decisions about what to do with your money.

Advance your critical thinking abilities so you can make conclusions on your data and from your charts. In order to be a successful forex trader, you need to be able to quickly and accurately synthesize information from multiple sources.

Always learn as much as you can about the currencies you trade, and read any financial reports or news that you can get your hands on. The news has a direct effect on speculation, which in turn has a direct effect on the market. Setting up some kind of alert, whether it is email or text, helps to capitalize on news items.

TIP! Choosing your stops on Forex is more of an art form than a science. Part of this will be following your gut, the other part will be past experience with the market.

To determine when to sell and buy, make use of exchange market signals. It is possible to set up alarms to notify you of certain rates. Get your market entry and exit plan down on paper ahead of time to prevent missing an opportunity ? the market moves fast and there?s not always time to think or contemplate.

There is no limit to how much you can earn by trading on the foreign exchange market. All of this is dependent upon your success as a trader. In order to achieve this success, you must focus on learning how to properly trade.

US beats Spain 100-78 in basketball exhibition

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) ? There is no exhibition game gold medal. The only prize was some player of the game award LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony shared.

Not counting doesn't mean not mattering.

Once U.S. coach Mike Krzyzewski told the U.S. Olympic team that it was playing in probably the biggest basketball game here since the Dream Team ruled Barcelona, the Americans couldn't help wanting to take it to Spain ? even if it may have messed them up in the beginning.

"Today was one of those games that as a team, as a unit, we really tried to lock in from the start," Anthony said. "I think we came out a little bit too focused, a little bit overzealous at the beginning and they jumped on us quick.

"They came out with a lot of intensity and got some easy shots, easy baskets. Once we settled down and made a couple plays defensively, got back to our comfort zone, we didn't look back from there."

Anthony came off the bench to score 23 of his 27 points in the first half, and the Americans beat Spain 100-78 Tuesday night in a rematch of the 2008 Olympic gold-medal game ? and a possible preview of the next one.

James added 25 and Kevin Durant had 13, including 10 in the first 3? minutes of the third quarter to help the U.S. break open the teams' final exhibition game before heading to London.

"We knew that this was a big game," U.S. guard Chris Paul said. "When Coach K talked to us, he told us this was probably the biggest game here in Barcelona since the '92 team was here, so we approached it like that and it was a good win for us."

The teams played a memorable gold-medal game four years ago, the Americans pulling away for a 118-107 victory after leading by only four points with less than 2? minutes left.

This one turned out much easier once the U.S. controlled the final three quarters.

"It was a good test for us tonight, but the exhibition games are over, the friendlies are over and we look forward to the real challenge of going to London," James said.

Pau Gasol scored 19 points and Oklahoma City forward Serge Ibaka, a native of the Republic of Congo who became a Spanish national last year, had 16.

Both teams have been weakened by injuries, with the U.S. missing Dwyane Wade, Dwight Howard and Chris Bosh, all key contributors in Beijing, along with Derrick Rose.

The Spaniards are without point guard Ricky Rubio, and All-Star center Marc Gasol, Juan Carlos Navarro and Rudy Fernandez have battled injuries this year.

They're still the best two teams in the world and favored to meet again in the Aug. 12 gold-medal game. Spain would have a different look, as Marc Gasol was held out of this one while recovering from a left shoulder injury and backup point guard Sergio Rodriguez also sat out.

It may not matter if the Americans play like this in the games that count.

Spain's players said Monday that while they would try to win this tuneup, the bigger priority was preparing for London. The Americans responded that the Spaniards, playing in front of their home fans, would be compelled to go all out in hopes of a victory.

Spain seemed to be playing for real, but was simply overmatched and the Americans eventually ran away for the victory.

"Well, it was definitely a game that we would have loved to play better as a team," Gasol said. "We made too many mistakes which they capitalized and they played their game. They're a quick unit, very athletic and once they were able to convert a few fast-break opportunities due to our turnovers, it was hard for us."

The Americans, who would have had Howard, Bosh and Blake Griffin on this roster, believe their quickness and versatility will overcome their size problems, and that's what happened in this one.

Spain's size advantage was evident early, especially once Tyson Chandler, the only center on the U.S. roster, went to the bench with two quick fouls.

The Spanish pounded the ball inside to Ibaka, who accounted for three straight Spain baskets on dunks, and the Americans were forced to use a timeout ? that never happened 20 years ago when the Dream Team ruled Barcelona ? after Victor Sada's jumper made it 22-13 with 1:40 left in the opening period.

But though Gasol and Ibaka had an obvious advantage inside, neither could deal with Anthony on the perimeter. He made five 3-pointers in the first half while often appearing unguarded behind the arc.

He opened and closed a 20-6 burst with 3-pointers as the Americans went from four down to ahead 42-32 with about 3 minutes left in the half. They later went up by 13 before taking a 48-40 lead into the locker room.

Gasol had the first basket of the second half, but Durant dominated the next few minutes as the Americans extended the lead to 60-46. Russell Westbrook scored seven straight later in the period, his steal and dunk making it 69-48 with 4:19 left.

Spain trimmed it to 12 later in the period, but never had a real shot of getting back into it.

At times it felt like a serious game at Palau Sant Jordi, where nearly every seat was filled well before an energetic pregame ceremony, in which the U.S. national anthem was performed live, instead of the usual recording.

But it also felt like a show, something along the lines of the NBA All-Star game. Navarro was honored before the game for his 200 appearances for Spain, and Dream Teamers Chris Mullin, David Robinson and Clyde Drexler were introduced during a first-quarter timeout. The teams took a photo together after the game as confetti shot out behind them.

The U.S. had a pair of quality tests in Barcelona, beating Argentina 86-80 on Sunday and going 5-0 overall in exhibition play.

But the Americans were pushed by all three opponents with legitimate NBA size, the two here and Brazil in an 80-69 victory in Washington.

"We played against two very tough teams in Argentina and Spain, so I think it made us a better team," Kobe Bryant said. "I think it showed us some things that we want to do differently, some things that we're doing right, and I think because of it we feel pretty good about our chances."

The U.S. and Spain were drawn into opposite Olympic pools, so they wouldn't play until the elimination round. And it's likely to be at the very end of it.

"We know we'll get a different team if we meet them in the Olympics, so this was a one-off game," U.S. guard Deron Williams said. "It doesn't mean anything. It was a good win for us but it doesn't mean anything as far as the Olympics are concerned."

Testimonial ? Krystal Lovering | Clean Health Personal Training ...

In 2012 I worked with the amazing Claudine McDonald through the Clean Health online personal training program who helped me prepare for my first competition at the 2012 ANB Asia Pacific Fitness Model Championships where I won the judges and fan favourite award. At first I thought this was a big risk doing my first comp and having my trainer in another state, but I was confident in the knowledge and experience that clean health could offer.

Claudine and I kept in touch weekly sending through photos and feedback. The support I got was fantastic and nothing was ever too hard or a problem. I flew done to Sydney and saw Claudine and the team twice in my preparation to my comps, not that it was necessary but meeting her and the rest of the team made it more personal for me.

Their approach to training and diet got me in the best shape of my life. My strength levels increased dramatically, energy levels increased and now have a new look on life.

Would I recommend the online process ?Most definitely! I look forward to working more with Clean Health and can?t wait to compete again!

In Memorium: Remembering the Victims of the 'Dark Knight Rises ...

    Colorado Shooting Victims

The Sullivan Family/The Hoover and Boik Family/Jessica Ghawi

We had planning on starting fresh this week; moving on from the Colorado movie theater tragedy and returning to coverage of movies and television. But one more thing before we proceed. Let?s take a moment to meet the victims and remember all who died far too soon.

The media has spent a lot of time on the alleged shooter (whose name we won?t repeat here) but we think it?s only fair we focus a little more attention on the more important names: those whose lives were tragically ended in the early morning hours of Friday, July 20th. These are the 12 confirmed dead (courtesy CBS Denver) with some information on their lives and the friends and family they left behind. They?re sons and daughters and husbands and girlfriends and fathers and fellow movie fans.

    RIP.

Jessica N. Ghawi, 24 ? Ghawi, an aspiring sports journalist, had recently moved to Denver where she was working as an intern under the professional name Jessica Redfield. Many have found her active Twitter feed and blog (where she wrote about previously surviving a shooting in a Toronto mall).

Veronica Moser Sullivan, 6 ? The youngest of the victims killed in the attack. She had just learned to swim, and at age 6, she was a ?great little girl, excited about life,? her great-aunt Annie Dalton said. ?She should be at 6 years old.? Her mother, Ashley Moser, remains hospitalized with gunshot wounds to her neck and abdomen.

John T. Larimer, 27 ? A Navy sailor based at Buckley Air Force Base, where he was a cryptologic technician ? a job that the Navy says on its website should be filled by someone with ?exceptionally good character, above-average writing and speaking skills, a good memory, curiosity and resourcefulness.? Larimer was the youngest of five siblings. ?We love you, John, and we will miss you always,? his parents said in a statement.

Alexander J. Boik, 18 - Boik, an 18-year-old known as AJ, had recently graduated from Gateway High School in Aurora. He was to start classes at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in the fall. The family said in a statement that the 18-year-old was loved by all who knew him and was dating ?a beautiful young lady? who was with him at the theater and survived.

Jesse E. Childress, 29 ? An Air Force cyber-systems operator based at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora. Air Force Capt. Andrew Williams described the 29-year-old from Thornton, Colo., as knowledgeable, experienced and respectful. ?We?re going to miss him incredibly,? he said.

Jonathon T. Blunk, 26 ? The 26-year-old served three tours in the Persian Gulf and North Arabian Sea between 2004 and 2009 and had plans to re-enlist in the Navy with the goal of becoming a Navy SEAL. Blunk was also a certified firefighter and emergency medical technician. He died in the shooting Friday after throwing himself in front of friend Jansen Young and saving her life. He leaves behind a four-year-old daughter and two-year-old son.

Alex M. Sullivan, 27 ? Sullivan was celebrating both his 27th birthday and one-year wedding anniversary on the day he was killed. He was such a big movie fan that he took jobs at theaters just to see movies. ?Alex was a gentle giant, known and loved by so many. He always had a glowing smile on his face and he made friends with everyone. Alex enjoyed all sorts of movies, was an avid comic book geek and loved the New York Mets,? the family said in a statement.

Micayla C. Medek, 23 ? She was 23 years old and juggling classes at Aurora Community College with a job at Subway. She was with a group of 10 friends at the ?Dark Knight Rises? screening. A Green Bay Packers fan, Medek, would plan her schedule around watching Packers games with her sister and father.

Matthew R. McQuinn, 27 ? As the attack in the movie theater unfolded, Matt McQuinn dove in front of his girlfriend and her older brother to shield them from the gunfire. His girlfriend, Samantha Yowler, is recovering from surgery after she was shot in the knee at the theater.
