Congresswoman threatens breast cancer research ? Don Surber

Sometimes I think the left side of the political spectrum is populated by ghouls. The Susan G. Komen for the Cure, which raises $400 million a year for breast cancer examinations, treatment and research, decided to stop payments of $580,000 to $680,000 a year to Planned Parenthood. Instead, the money raised for breast cancer research and the like will go to ? you guessed it ? breast cancer research and the like. This came because conservatives were pressuring Komen to stick to breast cancer research and the like rather than be involved with the No. 1 abortion provider in America. Komen denies this, saying it only is disassociating with Planned Parenthood because that group is under a congressional investigation.

Enter lefties who now want to boycott Komen under the phony-baloney excuse that ? get this ? women will die from breast cancer if money raised to fight breast cancer is not diverted to Planned Parenthood.

Logic is not a strength for lefties.

From the Hill:

Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) on Wednesday morning said she would no longer support the Susan G. Komen Foundation because of that organization?s decision to no longer provide funding to Planned Parenthood.

?I have been a big booster of the Susan G. Komen organization,? Speier said on the House floor. ?But not anymore.?

On Monday, Speier tweeted ?Komen?s decision hurts women ? it puts politics before women?s health. @komenforthecure should be ashamed.?

Democratic Congresswoman Jackie Speier also threatened Komen from the floor 0f the House chamber: ?I guess it means that Susan G. Komen has become a 501(d)(4), because no longer do they want to be providing nonprofits, they want to become a political advocacy group. Last time I checked, we were all presumed innocent until proven guilty.?

Once again, a liberal threatens to use the power of the federal government against someone the liberal deems to be an enemy of abortion.

Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer issued her threat ? statement: ?I was perplexed and troubled to see the decision by Susan G. Komen for the Cure to cut off funding for life-saving breast cancer screenings through Planned Parenthood because of a political witch hunt by House Republicans. I truly hope that they will reconsider this decision and put the needs of women first.?

(Corrected from threat as it is not a threat.)

Congresswoman Speier and Senator Boxer are so zealous in their support of women aborting babies that they seem willing to risk finding a cure for breast cancer rather than have Planned Parenthood lose any funding.

What is with abortion anyway? Why do so many on the left see abortion not as a right but as the only right?

Here is an idea for the intemperate left: Why not raise your own money for Planned Parenthood?

To donate to Komen.
