Sometimes what you want to do and where you live are in conflict. Maybe the country you live in doesn't have the industry you want to work in?or the school you want to go to. Deciding to leave is hard enough, but throw the cost and hassle of emigration into the mix and things get even more complicated.

What is the best way to get out of a country that's killing you (metaphorically)? I'm currently in Dubai, and doing a job I have no interest in doing. What I'd like to be doing is in gaming - and this country has absolutely no scope in that area. I don't have a degree yet, and to do it, I'll need to fund it myself, which is a really hard task. What would I need to do to be able to leave in the next year or two (or three) - to the US, UK, anywhere really, away from here, so I can start doing what I really want to be doing.
