We are all really excited about the challenge and I think it has captured the public?s imagination because it is two top sides who are so evenly matched.
Every time we play against them it?s exciting. You play cricket to test yourself against some seriously good bowling and that?s what we?ll face in this series.
Foremost will be Dale Steyn, who has long been ranked as the world?s No.1.
He?s quick, shapes it and bowls in good areas which is pretty much the three things you need to be a very good bowler.
Many people have tried to compare Jimmy Anderson and Steyn, suggesting whoever comes out on top in their supposed personal duel will decide the series.
That?s definitely not the way we?re looking at it. We operate as a team and when we bowl it?s not just Jimmy the opposition have to look out for.
We never put too much pressure on one guy. When we played Australia in Australia, everyone contributed at times and we?ll need to do that again during this series.
There?ll be certain moments which will define matches and whoever wins those will win the series. I don?t think the fact the No.1 Test ranking is on the line will provide us with any extra motivation but clearly the adrenaline will be going.
I?m told South Africa have not lost a series away from home in six years.
We?ve made a habit of breaking records over the past few years and it would be nice in five weeks' time if we could end that run.
